Prenup and Postnuptial Agreements

Parties can amicably enter into a postnuptial agreement (after the marriage) or a prenuptial agreement (before the marriage) to handle financial issues and real estate matters. This is a legally binding contract allowed under Florida Law to address a variety of topics. You can divide your assets and your liabilities, set aside real estate properties, address alimony or spousal support, and divide up debt.

This agreement must be in writing, signed by both parties, and must be entered freely without duress or coercion. Also, there must be adequate disclosure exchanged between the parties, and the topics discussed in the contract must be legally valid.

At the Law Offices of Alyssa D. Honickman, we offer specific assistance and legal advice to those individuals who wish to have a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement drafted to benefit their needs. The importance of having a contract written dividing up your property and financial resources can take a load of stress off the parties as they enter a marriage or after the parties have finally said, “ I Do.”
